So, this is probably one of the funniest scenes in a movie that references a video game.

Can you think of anything funnier than Gretzky’s head bleeding all over the ice and this scene from “Swingers” because I can’t.

Once you see all of this, your world will flip upside-down , then right side-up, then upside-down again.

So, as many of you know I am in a 4-man permanent team in Diablo. And not just any team, but we are rolling Hardcore Mode.

Yeah.

Hardcore as in you die and that’s it. Your character, regardless of level, is gone. Forever.

So, a couple weeks ago I had a contest where you basically got to make fun of me.

Basically I put a bunch of pictures up for PhotoShopping into a robot theme and said “have at it!” Well, people had at it. And here are the results!

Sorry for the delay in this, was having a coniption getting a good photo scroll plugin (and even this one is bugged a bit).

Here we are five days away from the major launch of Diablo III and I still don’t know if I’m going to get it.

Not that I don’t think it’ll be a good or ever great game, but because of what seems like a plethora of reasons.

Time

It seems so trivial but when it comes to gaming I just don’t have tons of time anymore. I get like an hour a night aside from four-hour casts  on Monday and Wednesday. With a full-time job and a full life at home with a wife and kid, gaming is no longer a thing I can even plan for. I wish I could. I love playing games, especially with this awesome community in GameOn. Ah, but alas time. You foul, sinister bitch.

The Franchise

BOOMER!!!!!

I have almost no familiarity with Diablo. I have a faint memory of dealing with the inventory and  an early dungeon, but that is really about it. Not sure why I never got into the games at all, but it probably had something to do with not really playing PC games very often. Not to mention that in the year 2000 I was in The Navy so that probably had a lot to do with it, too. Consoles were far more convenient and you couldn’t bring a PC on a ship.

Sync

Am I off? Isn’t Diablo another time sync? The less you play, the way worse off you are. There is really nothing worse than being some low-level avatar and having some elite person come in your game with you and just smash everything in your path. There is simply no challenge to that. Not to mention how useless it makes you feel.

Wife

She must be swayed! I haven’t purchased a game in quite a while so I can use that for sure. This is my expected reaction, “A game? What are you going to buy me?” haha

But seriously, I do want the game. I just want to make sure that there will be people to play with me and that they won’t be EPIK LEVULZ and I can enjoy myself over time.

Yeah, so the first official screenshot of Elder Scrolls Online was released today. I can’t tell if the hero on the left is another ugly Bethesda woman or a cross-dressing man.
